Rita Marie (Cullen) LaVoie, age 93 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, George LaVoie Sr.; son, George LaVoie II; and brothers, Donald Cullen, and James Cullen. Rita is survived by her children, Julianne (John) Jaksa, Denise (Blair) Dame, John (Martha) LaVoie, Thomas LaVoie, Daniel (Nancy) LaVoie, Sarah LaVoie, Stephen (Donna) LaVoie, Mary LaVoie (Ray), and Joseph LaVoie; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Cullen, and Elizabeth Sharpy. Rita’s family would like to thank Dr. Brian Phillips and staff, Corewell Hospice, Dominican Sisters of Marywood, Sally Hayes, and Sharon and Jim Henkel for their support. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 12:00pm, Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with visitation one-hour prior.
