Joan Lee Foster Luce, age 78 of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois & Elmer Gregaitis; first husband, Larry Len Foster; second husband, Clifford J. Luce; siblings, Alan Gregaitis, Elmer “Feller” Gregaitis, and Martha Gregaitis; and beloved mini poodles, Sophie and Mystro. Joan is survived by her children, Anitamarie (David) Piell, Shannon (James) Whitmore; grandchildren, Alexander, Jessica, & Sarah Piell, Aaron, Montana, & Jacob Whitmore; great-grandchildren, Emma Moore, Alastair Piell; brothers, Mark Gregaitis, Lewis Crawford; sister, Karen See; and several nieces and nephews. Joan enjoyed working at several restaurants, greeting, and servicing guests, as well as maintaining the family home. She loved to travel, going to several campgrounds. Joan enjoyed watching and feeding birds, fishing, playing cards, and crochet. She was known for her creative and artistic personality. A Celebration of Life with family time of sharing and a meal will be held Friday, May 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Alex Piell’s residence.
