Thomas Lee Root

Thomas Lee Root, age 68 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Carl. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joyce; children, Christopher, and Amy Root; mother, Gladys Root; sisters, Ginger (Tom) Penning, Kim Root; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Carol) VanTimmeren, Ed (Sharon) VanTimmeren; sister-in-law, Sharon VanTimmeren; also many nieces and nephews. Tom enjoyed spending summer days at the cottage on Gun Lake, listening to classical music, going to services at chapel and reading his Bible daily. He could be seen walking or riding his bike around Cascade. Funeral services will be held Friday 1:30 p.m. at Raybrook Manor Chapel, 2121 Raybrook S.E. Grand Rapids. Rev. Steve DeVries of Plymouth Heights Christian Reformed Church officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives 12:00-1:30 p.m. at the chapel.
