Samuel Fariss Jackson

JACKSON – Samuel Fariss Jackson aged 83 died September 2 2009 at Laurels of Kent in Lowell. Sam was born on November 22 1925 in Atlanta Georgia to Dickson and Loraine Jackson and grew up in St. Joseph Michigan. He served with the U.S. Army in Italy with medics during World War II. Sam graduated from the University of Michigan in 1951 with an MBA. He retired fromRalph Wilson Agency of Detroit in 1988. Sam enjoyed swimming sailing and was ham radio operator. He was preceded in death by his brother George Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Ann; daughter Leigh Ann (Thomas) Hunt and son Kenneth S. (Pauline) Jackson; grandchildren Thomas S., Elisabeth L., John J. Hunt Sophie H. and Henry D. Jackson; sisters Derelle Martin Miriam Parrish and M. Florence (Ronald) Hardy; brother John A. Jackson; many nieces and nephews. Private burial services will be at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy Michigan.
