Roland Archie Waterfield Jr., age 81, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Archie Waterfield Sr.; and mother, Virginia Waterfield. Roland leaves behind his sons, Daniel (Elizabeth), Ross (Hannah), Bret (Kristi); grandchildren, Gabriel, Kaly, Ty, Drew; brother, Thomas (Jeanne).
Ron was born in Maryland but spent most of his life in Grand Rapids Michigan. He attended college at Western Michigan University, earning his degree in business. Ron was an Actuary, worked in insurance and was an entrepreneur.
He was known for being a good conversationalist. Ron enjoyed going to the Pen Club to socialize and play squash and racquetball with friends. He enjoyed watching College Football. Above all, Ron loved the time spent with friends and family at Bills Lake.
The family will meet friends and relatives from 10-11am, Thursday, August 3, 2023, with Memorial services at 11am at Cascade Christian Church, Orange Street Chapel, 2829 Thornapple River Dr SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Rev. Jill Forton officiating.
