Michael Abson Sr., age 81 of Belding, was escorted by his guardian angels on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Michael is waiting and watching in heaven for his beloved wife of 61 years, Marian (Heydenburg), also his precious children Michael Jr., April (Darrin) Louck, and Bryan (Lweendo) as well as his dear grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Hall, Holly Marckini, Travis (Carly) Louck, Grayson Louck, Symone Gray, Tumelo Gray and Caleb Abson; greatgrandchildren, Jayce, and Lennox Dups, and Oaklee Louck. Mike was preceded into heaven by his parents Henry and Margaret (Aikey) Abson; brothers, Jimmie, and Donald Abson. Mike loved his family almost as much as he loved the Lord his God. Mike was an active volunteer in his community. He received first aid training and worked as an EMT with SERT and rode as a reserved deputy with Kent County E-Unit as well as a member of his company’s first aid team. Mike was also proudly a volunteer conservation officer with the DNR. He donated countless hours as a member of several Ducks Unlimited committees. He loved to hunt and fish and taught his family to love it. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4-7pm at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11am at the Plainfield Baptist Church, 1750 Woodworth St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with a visitation one hour prior. Deacon Paul Stuart officiating. Internment New Bostwick Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan, 7311 Crystal View Drive SE., Caledonia, MI 49316.
