Surviving are June’s children Alan (Jayne) Mathews, Susan (Kim) Chase, both of Ada and Steven (Nancie) Mathews of Lowell. June was born April 24th, 1936, and grew up in Saranac in a loving Christian home with two brothers and two sisters. She could play the piano by ear and had a lovely singing voice. She was a gifted artist who loved to draw and paint. Junie, more than anything loved her Lord Jesus. She grew up attending Alton Bible Church in Lowell and continued to attend and serve with a grateful heart for as long as she could. She was a fierce prayer warrior with a tender heart for people. June and Jack owned Tip Top Gravel Company in Ada since 1966. Junie was an astute businesswoman who enjoyed her work, meeting and developing relationships with all the people she came in contact with. June, Jack, her brother Chuck and his first wife Nancy were all an integral part in starting the Christian based AWANA bible program for children at Alton Bible in the early 1970’s. June loved being with her family and took many vacations with them. Family was so important to her, and she was happiest when she was with them.

June’s life verse mirrored her own walk with Christ. She truly lived her life in a way that, no matter what may come, she trusted Christ in every aspect. Leaning into His guidance for her life.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.”

June was the best kind of person someone would want to know. The best wife, mom, sister, daughter, grandma, great grandma, friend, and woman of God.

Junie, you will be so missed, but we know we will see you again in Heaven one day.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Alton Bible Church, 2780 Lincoln Lake Ave. NE, Lowell, MI 49331. Funeral services will take place at 3pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Church with visitation one hour prior.
