George William Miller was born on May 8, 1946, in Auburn, Indiana to Marcia (Klotz) and Raymond Miller. He passed on March 23, 2024, at 77 years of age. George was funny and a great storyteller. He moved with his family to Grand Rapids around the age of 5. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and attended Grand Rapids Community College. He loved to tell childhood stories of walking with friends to Ramona Park/Reeds Lake to Ice Skate and watching the triple features on Saturdays at the Midtown and Majestic Theaters. He enjoyed his yearly grade school reunion with fellow St. Francis grade school alumni through 2023. He is survived by his wife Grace and his daughter Grace (Missy) Miller. He was a devoted dad and involved parent. He had an entrepreneurial spirit. His family owned and operated Sanitary Seafoods in Grand Rapids. It was all hands-on deck in the fish market especially during the Lenten season. George spent his career in the bar and restaurant business. George had a lot of hobbies. He enjoyed Corvettes, sailing, cooking, and woodworking. He appreciated the color yellow and had three yellow corvettes in succession. He enjoyed seeing how fast he could make it from his business in Wyoming to the marina in Holland to ride the rails on his sailboat the Windseeker. He was a great cook. He enjoyed barbecuing and entertaining friends and family. If you were invited to a party at the Millers, he made sure your belly was full and you had a good laugh. His memory will live on in the funny stories we remember. A private family celebration will be held in May.
