Karl Yentz, age 49 of Ada, passed away at home Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Yentz and Marie (nee) Au Claire; grandparents, Theodore and Madeline Au Claire, Edith Haar; sister, Emily Hoffman; uncles, Allen Yentz, Theodore Au Claire. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Susan Day; step-daughter, Olivia Engvall; son, Erik Yentz; brothers, Hans (Susan) Yentz, Daniel (Lindsey) Hoffman; nephews, Maxwell and Benjamin. After the untimely death of his parents, Karl was raised by his aunt and uncle, Pat and Fred Hoffman, who deeply mourn his loss. He is also fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Karl graduated from Petoskey High School, where he enjoyed being on the wrestling team. He attended Michigan State University and earned his RN degree from North Central Michigan College. His greatest loves were his wife and children, though he did deeply enjoy spending time outdoors, especially deep-sea fishing on his boat “Team Spooled”, and cruising to the Bahamas was a great joy for him. The family will meet with friends and relatives Wednesday 5-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. A Celebration of Karl’s life will be held at a later date in Northern Michigan followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, MI.
