Jewel Radford Jarka

Jewel Radford Jarka, age 89 of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Robert W. Jarka; sons, Dr. and Mrs. Robert M. Jarka of California, and Andrew Davis Jarka of Miami; grandsons, Nicholas and Michael; nephews, Howard Crowell, Thomas Freeman; nieces, Dr. Norine Freeman Noonan, Kathy Freeman Alday. Jewel was born in Columbus, Georgia and was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Physical Education. She was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Head of the Physical Therapy Department of Mary Free Bed of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster, 6477 Ada Dr., Ada. Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding. Interment Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids.
