Jean Getzen, a cherished presence in the lives of many, has peacefully transitioned to her next life, leaving behind her love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jean passed away on April 20, 2024, surrounded by family and friends, the very essence of her vibrant and full life, encapsulated in their embrace. Born September 22, 1959, Jean’s journey was one of remarkable experiences and profound connections. She lived with an infectious zest for life, always seizing each moment with poise and enthusiasm. Her spirit was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jean’s love for her family and friends was boundless, and she treasured every moment spent in their company. She found joy in every activity, from watching American Idol religiously to spending time in the garden to sailing on Lake Michigan to traversing the country in the motorhome. No adventure was too small or too grand. Jean always said, “The journey is the best part of the adventure.” Jean’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in all of us. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her memory will serve as a source of comfort and inspiration for years to come. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Huggard and Diane Huggard (Kabat). May her legacy continue to shine brightly, guiding us with the enduring light of her spirit. A visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331, where friends and loved ones will gather to share stories, laughter, and fond memories of a life well-lived.
