CLINTON JOHN HESS, age 84 of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Michael; and sister, Patricia Cox. He is survived by his children, Paul (Sue) Hess, David (Cheryl Botham) Hess, Peter Hess, Diane (Jeff) Sanborn; brother, Gary (Sue) Danese; sisters, Christy Danese, Martha Hess, Debbie Hess; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and special friend, Phyllis Smith. Clint served proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a semi-pro football player. He was fond of outdoor activities like grilling, fishing, golfing, gardening and tending to the hummingbirds. Funeral service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. Leonard Sudlik officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation Friday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
