Bruce L. Beak, age 93, born September 23, 1926 to the late Charles and Erma Beak. Bruce went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2020. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mr. and Mrs. L. Beak and Mr. and Mrs. K. Mercer. Bruce is survived by his children, Melody (Al) Kooiker of Allendale, MI, Cher (Terry) Brown of NC, and Shelly (Don) Heyl of PA; sister, Betty Lou (the late Dave) Clark of Lowell, MI; 8 grandkids; 13 great-grandkids; and 7 nieces and nephews. Bruce served in the Navy during WWII and retired from the Kent County Road Commission. Military honors will be held at Graceland Memorial Park and Mausoleum on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM under the auspices of The Kent County Honor Guard per Bruce’s wishes. The family of Bruce Beak would like to thank Allendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Community for their love and caring for Bruce over the past 3 years. He truly did love each and every one of you. Bruce will be missed by all.

Thanks for sharing Bruce with us! I’ll miss his visits to my office and the talks we had. My Dad also worked for the road commission so he liked to talk about that, and every time I read the Readers Digest I’ll think of him!
