WILLIS S. THOMPSON

Willis S. Thompson, age 87 of East Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita; children, Barb (Peter) Lundeen, Steven (LouAnn) Thompson, Scott (Ruth) Thompson; brother, David Thompson; sister, Diane (Milt) Ghekas; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews. Willis was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Gideons, member and former President of the Grand Rapids Round Table and founding member of Christ Community Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, Rev. Lynne Kammeraad, officiating. Inurnment Christ Community Church Memorial Gardens. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church, 2400 Forest Hill SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546.
