William John Lomas

William John Lomas, age 87 of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; children, John (Susan) Lomas, Beth (John) Szymczak, Dan (Carol) Lomas; grandchildren, Alison (Robert) Figueira, Aaron Breland, Evan Szymczak, and Colin Lomas. Bill was a chemist for Amway, served in the Navy in the Pacific during WW II, he was a choir director at the First United Methodist Church of Lowell, and enjoyed golfing and bowling with his friends. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at Clark Retirement Community Chapel, 1551 Franklin St. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. Charles Garrod and Rev. Bertran Vermeulan officiating.
