Velta Ronis

Velta Ronis (nee Jansons) born May 8, 1923 in Riga, Latvia. She was re-united on February 3, 2013 with her husband Julijs, who left us in 1975. She is survived by her daughter, Anda Heukels (James), and son, Martin Ronis (Cathy); grandsons, Michael Heukels (Yoko), Nikolas Ronis (Kattie), Erik Ronis, Grant Heukels; granddaughter, Katherine Heukels (Michael Husman); great-grandchildren, Jayden and Dylan, and her many friends at the Latvian Evangelical Church. Her family would like to thank the staff at Spectrum- Blodgett, Covenant Village and Hospice of Michigan for their care of Velta. A long life, overcoming displacement in the second world war, always serving as an inspiration and guiding light to her descendents. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. Memorial funeral services will be next week Saturday, February 16 at 11:00 AM at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Ilze Larsen, officiating. .
