Valija Ziedonis, age 80, peacefully passed away early Friday morning, October 9th, 2020, at home surrounded by family. Valija was born on May 5th, 1940 in Allaži, Latvia to Marija and Jānis Antoscenko. She was adopted by Arturs and Austra Meirovics who she moved to America with in 1950. Valija had a passion for her pets. She loved to collect antiques, dolls and Latvian artwork. Valija was preceded in death by her second husband, Viktors Ziedonis and her two brothers, Jānis Antoscenko and Viktors Atasenko. Valija was a loving mother who is survived by her eldest son, Viktors Miske Jr., her daughter, Mara Miske and spouse Arnis Kuplins; and her youngest son, Andrejs Miske and spouse Angela Miske. Valija is also survived by her first husband Viktors Miske Sr. and her sister, Marija Antoscenko. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Arija and Nikolajs Kuplins, Damien Miske and Raven Leale and several nieces and nephews. A private burial will be scheduled in the future.
