Richard “Dick” Arnold Talcott, age 82 of Grand Rapids, died unexpectedly Monday, September 7, 2015 in his home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Farah) Talcott; his son Edwin (Robin) Talcott; his son Joe (Sherri) Talcott; and his daughter Cathleen (Edward) Knape. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren Nikki, Cassie, Tara, Rachel, Jessica, Bri, Danielle, CiCi, Alex, Tony, and Emily; and 4 great grandchildren Taylee, Keegan, Ashton and Chase; sisters Elizabeth and Ollie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Edwin Talcott. In his early years, Dick served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. An avid fisherman, with an all-around love of the outdoors; Dick enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake. In his later years, Dick embraced his love for animals feeding the birds and ducks near his home. Dick enjoyed teasing his friends in the local grocery store and doctor’s office with his cane, where he was admired by many and nicknamed “Mr. T for Trouble”. Despite his difficulty speaking from a previous stroke; Dick spent his final years enjoying visits with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI. Msgr Ernest P. Schneider of St. Paul the Apostle officiating. Visitation Wednesday 5-8:00 p.m. at the Chapel, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
