RICHARD A. WOODRICK

WOODRICK, RICHARD A., age 80, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Ann Woodrick; brother, Robert A. (Aleicia) Woodrick; children, Andrew (Monica Reynolds) Woodrick of Ann Arbor, Sarah (Cliff) Bloom of Lowell, and Ann Woodrick of Phoenix; and his four grandchildren, Sam Woodrick, Scarlett Woodrick, Patrick Bloom, and Matthew Bloom. Dick was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy, including submarine duty. After a long association with the business co-founded by his father, D & W Food Centers, Dick started his own supermarket chain, Ric’s Food Centers, in 1976. Dick was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2750 Burton Street, SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Dick’s family would like to thank the staff at Trillium Woods for their kind care of Dick during his illness. Contributions in Dick’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
