Rachell Courtney VanVeelen, age 44, of Lowell, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 23, 2021.  She is survived by her husband Brian of 23 years; her sons Carson and Spencer VanVeelen; her mother Charlene (Lansing) Timmer; father James Lyon; mother-in-law Shelly VanVeelen; father-in-law Bill (Judy) VanVeelen; sister Sara Guile; brother Dirk (Krysna) Timmer; brother-in-law Scott (Lisa) VanVeelen, and also aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Rachell was a dedicated nurse her entire life.  After acquiring her RN degree, she went to pursue her BSN degree from Ohio University all while battling cancer. She loved traveling and making memories with her family, and spending time with her boys. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11am at Roth Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Pastor Brad Brillhart will be officiating.   1. Hey, we didn’t get to meet in person due to both of us being sick. I so wish it could’ve happened. You taught me a lot in my own fight. You helped me when I was terrified. For that, I’m eternally grateful. My fight continues but, now it’s your time to rest. I’ll fight for both of us, my friend. You are greatly missed.

  2. Sorry I cannot make the celebration of life as i’m on the road. Rachelle was a frequent visiter to my home while she and my daughter were in high school in GR. Such a lovely person, even back then as a teenager. My prayers and blessings go out to her family and friends as they navigate through this difficult time. Love you Rachelle. God Speed.
