Peter Ray VandeHaar

Peter Ray VandeHaar, M.D., of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Anne VandeHaar. He is survived by his wife Penelope; son Mark (Nicole) VandeHaar; brother John (Alice) VandeHaar; sisters Retha Wells, Doreen Fritsch, Ruth (Carl) VanTil; sisters-in-law Deborah Baxter, Suzy Cox; brother-in-law Mark (Kim) Smith; also nieces and nephews. Peter proudly served in the US Navy, graduated from Calvin College and the University of Iowa Medical School. He did his internship at Northwestern University and his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He had his private practice for 20 years in Grand Rapids, and retired from the Grand Rapids Veterans Clinic. Private services will be held at a later date.
