Nestor Aquino, Age 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Faustino Aquino; brother Antonio Aquino and father in law, Marcelino Barsatan. Nestor is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lydia; children Michael and Honeygirl, Marites and Jhun, Marjorie and Jose, Mia and Jared, and Mark and Trina; grandchildren Juan Miguel, McYasser, Raphael Luiz, Kurt Louie, Princess Hannah, Joaquin Carlos; brothers Mel (Arlene) Aquino, Mario (Carol) Aquino and William (Precilla) Aquino; sisters Natalia (Liem) Hoang, Myrna (Ludi) Aragoza and Tesie (Alex) Quiton; Minda Tipon, Jackson (Maricel) Barsatan,Teresita (Benny) Flores, Aurelia (Manny) Flores, Eva (Freddy) Castro, Oscar (Modesta) Barsatan, Edison (Gina) Barsatan, Rosemary Barsatan and Rodel Barsatan; many nieces and nephews and special pets Bella, Jake, and Fin. He was a selfless, hardworking, kind, caring man with a big heart. Most of his life, Nestor was a truck driver and business owner. He loved to spend his free time fishing, cooking with Lydia, and spending time with family. He also helped fix many cars. Family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, January 23 from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM with a Rosary at 7:30PM at O’Brien Eggebeen Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 24 at 11AM at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, Rev. Peter Damian presiding, visitation one hour prior. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Nestor’s name to O’Brien Eggebeen Gerst Funeral Home to help the family with the funeral expenses.
