Miriam Elizabeth Anderson passed away at her Lake Home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Born September 10, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, her early years were spent in Coldwater, Michigan. She later settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan until retiring to her home on Paw Paw Lake that has been the family gathering place since 1892. She graduated and received degrees from Western Michigan University, University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. She spent her career as a high school teacher and long time counselor in the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glen Anderson. Survivors include Janet (Bill) Durr, Dr. Thomas (Jill) Anderson, Barbara Van Haren, Mary (Chris) Banner, Dr. John Anderson, 21 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren who hold precious memories of their Granny in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3 at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids. Deacon James Thorndill of St. Thomas the Apostle officiating.
