Margaret Bancroft, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at sunset on the evening of Friday, July 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Loraine, by her son Loraine Jr., her parents, Edward and Bertha Benson; brothers, Howard and Burton; sisters, Rowena Stevens and Helen Cook; and her son-in-law, Daryl White. Surviving are her three children, Nancy (Daryl) White, Barbara (Paul) Symanski, John (Lee Ann) Bancroft, her seven grandchildren, and her thirteen great-grandchildren. Margaret, the youngest of five children, was born a century ago in Munson, Michigan, on August 9, 1914. She graduated from Morenci High School, and received her degree from Cleary Business College. She lived in Morenci, MI; New York City, NY; West Palm Beach, FL; and Grand Rapids, MI. Graveside Services will be held Friday, July 31st at 11:30am at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, Michigan. Rev. William Van Valkenburg will officiate. With her family grown and away, Margaret managed the Pocono Playhouse Box Office in Mountain Home, PA, for ten years. Then, for two decades, she was on the staff of The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, and the Morenci Public Library.
