Margaret Anna “Ann” Holt, 97, died peacefully on Jan. 18, from complications of old age. Born in the farm and mill community of Dunnville, Ontario, she emigrated to the United States with her late husband, Jack, in the 1950s. A graduate of the University of Toronto, she became a working career mom when that was not common and worked in a variety of marketing communication roles at Amway Corporation from its early days until her retirement. Although she traveled widely in retirement, her favorite place for more than 40 years was a beloved, early-20th century log cottage on Big Star Lake. She is survived by two sons, Jim Holt, of Grand Rapids, and Tom (Robin) Holt of Portland, Oregon, and five grandchildren: Andy Holt, Kevin Holt, Capt. Nathan Holt (Capt. Rachel King), Sam (Sarah) Holt, and Kenna Holt. The family thanks Emmanuel Hospice and the Porter Hills staff for the excellent care they provided to Ann and suggests donations in her memory to Foundation Fighting Blindness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church, 6477 Ada Dr SE, Ada, MI 49301, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.
