Larry Lee McPherson Sr., age 87, of Cascade, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2020. Larry is preceded in death by his son, Larry “Lee” McPherson Jr. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lillas McPherson; children, Lynne (David) Dee, Laura (Jody) Mitchell, Lewis (Mary) McPherson; grandchildren, Lauren, Jenny, David, Emily, and Katelyn; eight great grandchildren; and special friends, Marge & Marty, and Phil & Carol. Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War. After serving, he went on to work for Lear Siegler and then Gear Research. With the help of his father, Larry built his family home on the Thornapple River in Cascade. In his free time, he enjoyed both downhill and water skiing. He also enjoyed flying and obtained his private pilot’s license. Larry was very proud of his Scottish heritage, and made several trips to Scotland with his wife, Lillas. He was also the international chairman for the Scottish Clan MacPherson. Visitation with the family will take place from 1-2 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331, memorial service will follow at 2 PM, with Pastor Ford presiding. Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Clan MacPherson Museum, clan-macpherson.org

Wish I could be there, as I love you all so much but just not feasible with my health issues. I will be praying for you and hopefully we can get together again when this COVIC is under control.
My sympathies and prayers for Lillas and family. Larry was a wonderful Clan Macpherson cousin and will be missed by us all.
So sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. Many warm memories of Larry and Lillas many Clan Macpherson events. They are a proud and honorable family. Prayers for Lillas and the family. Scots Aye!
