John P. Groendyk

GROENDYK – John P. Groendyk Sr., aged 77 of Kentwood passed away unexpectedly November 29 2008. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Marie Groendyk. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Sandra; children Tamara (Steven) Quick Susan (Michael) Gray Robin (Dave) LaBrecque Heidi Groendyk John Groendyk Jr; grandchildren Robert Cook II Christopher (Nicole) Cook Tiffany Cook Breanna and Nicole Gray Andrew Geister Danielle LaBrecque Sean James III Stephanie and Samantha Newhouse; great-grandchildren RaeLynn and Benjamin Cook. John served in the Army during the Korean Conflict was an avid Detroit Tiger and Lions fan loved bowling and his crossword puzzles. Funeral services will be December 3 at at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE Elder Almer Dieterman of Community of Christ Church officiating. Interment Kent Memorial Gardens. Visitation 7-9 PM and 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community of Christ Church 2140 Union SE Grand Rapids Michigan 49507.
