John Michael Lovell, age 77, of Grand Rapids died Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born August 11, 1943 to Donald and Madeline Lovell who preceded him in death. John is also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Bill and Don; sisters, Paula Command and Mary Ghareeb. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Ronan Lovell; children, Colleen Shelton, Kevin Lovell and Brian Lovell; grandchildren, Allison Meyer, John, Marley and Casey Shelton, Cici, Gehrig and Slater Lovell; great-grandson, Kellen Meyer; sister, Sue (Ed) Wagner, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ronan; many nieces and nephews. John retired from Maly’s of Michigan after a 50 year career. His humor and kindness will be greatly missed by all, but especially by his two best friends, Marley and Kellen. Due to COVID restrictions there will be no visitation or services at this time. Thank you to all our friends who have been so wonderful.

Maureen, my sympathy to you and the family. I remember you and John from my our days at SFX. I think John lived on Madison across from Riordan’s Drug Store and I remember you at your dad’s funeral home. My prayers are with you and Mary Ann in this time of so much sadness and grief.
