James Edward Schweitzer, of Cascade Township, born September 27, 1939 in Ellsworth, MN, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Roberta Schweitzer; brothers, Les Schweitzer, Dick Schweitzer; brother-in-law, Ken Stoll. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fran; daughter, Kim (Gary) Cook; grandson, Brandon Cook; brother, Arthur (Sandy) Schweitzer; sisters, Janet Stoll, Elaine (Denny) Klingenberg, Linda (Darius) Klingenberg, Wayne (Diane) Schweitzer, Laura (Larry) Boltjes; sister-in-law, Janet Schweitzer. Jim was retired from GM after 42 years. He was known for being a Good Samaritan – helping even strangers, volunteered with Meals on Wheels and God’s Kitchen. Jim was a faithful servant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, reading, and loved gardening, was a member at Kent Conservation, and Laddy’s Gun Club. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster, 6477 Ada Drive, Ada. Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding. Interment Cascade Cemetery.
