James C. Wood

James C. Wood, age 92 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank & Kenneth Wood. Survived by his wife of 45 years Mary Jo; children, Leslie (Robert) Cowlishaw, Jim (Linda) Wood, Tom Wood, Mary Schumacher, & Tom (Wendy) VandeWater; brother-in-law, Daniel (Beth) Oonk; sister-in-law, Patricia Doolittle; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and also nieces and nephews. Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Jim loved to play golf and was a diehard University of Michigan fan. He was a salesman for many years with Andrew Jergens, Inc. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. with 1 hour visitation prior at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1449 Wilcox Park Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506 with Father James Chelich presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
