James Amos Wheeler

James A. Wheeler, age 87 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Alto, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 31, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Laura Wheeler; older brother Harold; younger brother Jerry. He is survived by his wife of 66 ½ years, Venita; children Ralph (Janet) Wheeler, Jamie (Joel) Moran, Ellen (Paul) Seese, 9 grandchildren, James (Marisa) Wheeler, Brandee (Ricardo) Williams, Heather (Brian) Hazelett, Angela (Todd) Osborn, Robert (Maggie) Moran, Ashly Burnett, Joshua Moran, Leannah Seese, Raymond (Aminat) Seese; sister-in-laws Shirley Wheeler, Nancy (Larry) Karcher; brother-in-laws Kenneth Laser, Gordon Laser; several great grandchildren, and very special cousins Ed and Joan Wheeler. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, Raybrook Manor Chapel, 2121 Raybrook SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Interment Bowne Center Cemetery.
