JAMES ALLEN WOJCZYNSKI SR. April 2, 1947 – December 11, 2016

James Allen Wojczynski Sr., age 69 of Cascade, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with glioblastoma, Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph; parents Carl and Louise; and father and mother-in-law Rudy and Stella Banka. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Sandy; sons Jim (Christy) Jr., Jason (Derek Da Silva), Justin (Gemma); brothers Dennis (Denise), Dan (Sherry); sister Mary Lynn (Jim) McCarthy; grandchildren Kyle and Colin; brother-in-law Rudy Banka; also many nieces and nephews. He proudly served with the Charlie Tigers during Vietnam as Second Lieutenant, where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.  Jim was an advisory board member for Catholic Foundation of West Michigan, Catholic Charities of West Michigan, and was a past member of the Catholic Secondary Schools. He was a kind, loving and supportive husband, father, JaJa and brother. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster Church, 6477 Ada Dr. S.E., Ada. Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding.
