James Alan Boersma, age 67 of Lake Odessa, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 3, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Evelyn Boersma; brother, Tom; and his companion dogs, Colt, Beretta, Truck, Remington, Angel, Dixie, Michael, and Zach. He is survived by his daughter, Amanita (Robert) Fahrni; granddaughter, Keana Fahrni; brothers, Jack (Loie) Boersma, Tom’s wife Jo Boersma, Rus (Mary) Boersma, Dale (Sue) Boersma; also many nieces and nephews. Jim proudly served with the US Marines as a Helicopter Crew Chief in the Vietnam Conflict. Visitation Sunday 4-6:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Funeral service to be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. Rus Boersma officiating with military honors under the auspices of the Kent County Veteran Honor Guard. Interment Cascade Cemetery.
