SLOSS Jacqueline Joan Sloss aged 68 called Jacqui most of her life died unexpectedly October 18 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Rose Delrez; brother Danny Delrez and nephew Kyle Delrez. She is survived by her husband of nearly50 years George; children Rae (David) Green and Victor Sloss; grandchildren Jacqueline & Alec Green; brother Victor (Delores) Delrez; daughter-in-law Debby Sloss; niece Amy (Brian) and nephew Alan. George and Jake spent the last decade happily retired in Cascade where they entertained family friends and neighbors while enjoying nippy sweeties in the gazebo. They playfully referred to each other by the Scottish nickname of Jimmy and over the years this evolved into their affectionate greeting to one another. Most of their life was spent in the Oak Park neighborhood where Rae and Victor were raised. The Republic Street house was filled with love endless late night laughs and over 30 years of parties where people arrived early and sometimes never left. George and Jacquis loving relationship and friendship lasted over 50 years. Family was everything to her and she embraced her husbands Scottish heritage and traditions weaving those traditions with dinners party themes and many trips back to the old country most recently with grandson Alec. Jacqueline and Alec were always the center of her world. She was loved by everyone she met and enjoyed many special friendships her unique ability to share her infectious happiness created joy for all of us around her. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE Jill Forton Assistant Pastor of Cascade Christian Church officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM and 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hope Association 324 Lyon St. NE Grand Rapids MI 49503.
