JACK ROGER BUYS

Jack Roger Buys, age 84 of Cascade, went to be with his Lord, after complications following heart surgery Saturday, August 10, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Elsie. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Roger (Jan), Robert (Coleen); and daughter Jane; grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Alison, Megan, Adam; great grandchildren, Nora, Walter, Rebecca, and Gabriel; sister, Betty (Jake) Kline. Jack was the last surviving member of the 1948 Cascade Volunteer Fire Department. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Marine Corps. For many years he was co-owner of Dykhouse and Buys in Cascade. Funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Cascade Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 6655 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, Pastor Milton Doornbos officiating. Visitation Tuesday 6-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids.
