Henry DeBoer

DEBOER – Henry DeBoer aged 94 a life -long resident of Grand Rapids died February 20 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife Bernadette (Farrell) DeBoer; sister Coby VanderLaan; brothers Bert and Charles DeBoer; sons-in-law Thomas Baar and Bruce Schneider; stepson-in-law Cal Wallis. Henry is survived by his wife Mary K. DeBoer; children James and Donna DeBoer Richard and Ann DeBoer Carol (DeBoer) Schneider Janet (DeBoer) Baar; step-children Steve and Kathy Kuhn Sue Wallis; sister Jeanette and Ellsworth Johnson; sister-in-law Florence DeBoer. Grandchildren Kerrie (Steve) Bandyk Kellie (Tim) Cutler James (Kari) DeBoer Jr., Lesa (Kevin) Brown Sara (David) Cook Elizabeth (Michael) Kenny Patricia (Casey) McGovern Delynn (BJ) Evans Stevan (Brenda) Schneider Amy Schneider; step-grandchildren Matt ( Lisa), Brian (Suzanne) and Luke (Danielle) Wallis; 26 great-grandchildren. Henry retired as an automotive engineer from Grand Rapids Metalcraft and was a member of the Grand Rapids Elks. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dave Bultman from Angel Care; Spectrum Hospice and the staff at The Harbour – Hearthstone Assisted Living. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:30 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church 2750 Burton SE Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Visitation is 6-8 PM with a vigil service at 6:30 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE and also one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice or the Charity of your Choice.
