Helen M. (Ritter) Hobbs, age 84, of Alto, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on November 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard Hobbs; and parents, Charles and Alice Ritter. Survived by children; Christine (Jeff) Sanches, Jay Hobbs, Carolyn (Brent) Hobbs Kreiger; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Sharon) Ritter; sister, Margaret (Darrel) Rash; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Howard and Helen enjoyed traveling the country in their fifth wheel, golfing, bowling, and playing euchre with friends. Helen also enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing bridge with “the Girls,” and antiquing. If it were raining, you would find her in front of a jigsaw puzzle. Helen was active in local civic organizations and a beloved member of the surrounding community. The family would like to thank Maple Ridge Manor, Careline Health Group, and Interim Hospice for taking excellent care of our mother. Visitation will be held 1-3 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson St., Lowell, MI 49331, followed by a private burial at Merriman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s name to Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM) at https://www.fromlowell.org/donate/.
