Harry William Genson, age 97 of Newaygo, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria. He was third of 9 children born to Agnes (Osborn) and Warren Genson of Ludington, Michigan. He is survived by his companion Evelyn Tofilsky; sons Bill (Sandy) Genson, Don (Pam) Genson, Tom (Mark Olson) Genson; sister Betty Boulton; brother-in-law Tom Rathsack; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. Harry served in WWII then, in 1946, began working for GM – Diesel Equipment Division until he retired in 1976. He divided his retirement between his home on Croton Pond in Newaygo and Tucson, Arizona allowing him to golf year round. A sport he took up as a teenager and enjoyed through his 96th birthday, winning dozens of league trophies and three hole-in-ones. The family will gather for a private interment.
