Laukvirs, Elza , age 95 of Grand Rapids passed away on July 17, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Arvids and daughter Sandra Amolins. Elza is survived by her daughter Linda Figley; grandchildren Ashley (Josh) Thiel, Lija Amolins, Stacy Andrews, Frank (Shelly) Andrews Jr., Jeannine Swanger, Haley (Eric Swanson) Andrews, Dana (Brent Bailey) Andrews and Katelyn Figley as well as 23 great grandchildren and her nieces, Skaidrite Dombrovskis , Astrida Rider. Elza was born in Riga, Latvia on May 30, 1924. She also lived in Germany where she met her husband Arvids, and they later moved to Reed City where they had their first child, Sandra. The couple then moved to Grand Rapids where Linda was born, where Elza lived the rest of her life. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 20 at 11am at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids Rev Ilza Larsons officiating. Visitation one hour prior.
