Diane Leone Batt

BATT Diane Leone Batt passed away quietly on June 15th at Trillium Woods (Faith Hospice). Born on March 10 1935 she was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Clarissa Peacock and father-in-law Robert V. Batt. She was survived by her husband Robert F. Batt mother-in-law Alvina Batt children Robert J. (Renee) Batt Walter V (Diana) Batt Claire (Jerome) Vandenburg John F. (Renee) Batt James R. (Stacy) Batt and Elisabeth (Mark) Giem grandchildren Erin Jaclyn Karolyn Rebecca Michael Alexandra Valerie Jacob Erik Luke Timothy David Gillian Levi and Camryn great-grandchild Logan and many step-grandchildren. Her large family was one of Dianes great pleasures.Diane retired from West Godwin Elementary School where she taught reading as a paraprofessional and Spanish in the after school program after volunteering for many years. She was involved in folk dance groups Story Spinners of Grand Rapids Friends of Wyoming Library and her church (Immanuel Lutheran Church). She had a great love of wild flowers collecting identifying and was also a wild flower guide. Another great love was for animals of all kinds she was always up for a rescue and her cats were her beloved companions. She was also a great collector of people as she was someone who made friends easily and was loved by many. Funeral services will be Saturday 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2 Michigan Street NE Rev. Fred Krause officiating. Entombment Kent Memorial Gardens. Visitation 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE and Saturday one hour prior to the service at church.
