FRITSCH Carl Stephen (Steve) Fritsch age 64 passed away February 15 2009 of pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Susan; daughters Amy (Trevor) Sprik Carly Fritsch; grandson Kian Alexander Sprik; father Carl John Fritsch; brothers Dan and Mark; mother-in-law Ruth Johnson; and a large extended family. Mr. Fritsch was raised in Grand Rapids graduated from Ferris State University and served in the U.S. Army before joining the accounting firm of Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) as a tax accountant. He was a tax partner with the firm for many years before establishing his own practice. Steve prided himself on his relationships with his clients many of whom he served for more than three decades. He enjoyed playing golf with a regular group of friends at Egypt Valley Country Club and traveling with his family often stopping to play challenging courses along the way. A quiet and unassuming man Mr. Fritsch leaves as his legacy a commitment to family values a strong work ethic and the ability to treat others with dignity and respect. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. February 18 2009 at St. Robert of Newminster Church 6477 Ada Dr., Ada Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation February 17 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd SE. The family suggests donations to the University of Michigan Cancer Center or other organizations dedicated to medical research.
