Ardith L. Schroeder (Fase) of Ada, Michigan, age 90, peacefully went to her heavenly home on August 6, 2022. She was born on February 28, 1932, on Grand River Drive in Ada where she was raised along with her nine siblings on the family farm, now known as Peace Park. She married Burleigh L. Schroeder on October 23, 1952, and they had a wonderful life along with their four children. At Cascade Christian Church, she was best known as “The Soup Lady” as she put on the senior citizen Wednesday luncheons for many, many years. People always raved about her soups, sandwiches, and desserts! She is survived by her loving husband Burleigh of almost 70 years; her children, William Schroeder, Karen (Greg) Koenig, and Kenneth Schroeder; her son-in-law Terry (Virginia) Geldersma; her cherished grandchildren, Stephen (Alexis) Geldersma, Lauren (Ryan) Sagorski, Preston Koenig, Madison (Clinton) Chapman, and Rachel Koenig; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia Sagorski and Luka Geldersma. She loved hosting family holiday parties and grandkid sleepovers on the weekends. Ardith is preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, and her daughter, Patricia Geldersma (2014).
The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 AM at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Drive, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, on Friday, August 19, 2022, with visitation one hour prior. A light luncheon reception will follow the service. A private family interment will be at Cascade Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cascade Christian Church Kitchen.

We, at Our Savior, loved having Ardith and Burleigh join us at Senior Saints, every month. She was always upbeat and we loved that she came faithfully, with Burleigh. I was happy that I could visit her at the Oaks and again, always smiling! Norma Carey
