Yateendra Bhatnagar, age 82 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully August 29, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anjana; children, Piyush (Shahnaz) Bhatnagar, and Shikha (Rajeev) Batra; grandchildren, Nasim, Aman, Hannah, Kareena, Neena, and Krish. Yateendra attended university of Rochester earning his MBA and the Roorkee Institute of Technology School of Architecture, where he earned his master’s degree. He worked as Vice President and Operations Management at the YMCA of New York City. Yateendra was a passionate outdoorsman enjoying fishing, camping, boating, traveling, golf, and racquet sports. He served on the board of Meijer Gardens and the YMCA, sharing his love for nature and giving back to his community. Yateendra was practical, ambitious, goal-oriented until the very end. He was a loving father and husband. A Pooja will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 11:30am at the West Michigan Hindu Temple. Memorial contributions can be made to the YMCA Mary Free Bed.

Me and my wife Sudha Saxena send out deepest condolences. Yatee as we call him was my batch mate at Roorkee doing our B. Arch degree. He was very joyful person and a good friend. May his soul rest in peace and give strength to the family to bear the great loss.

Please accept our deepest condolences on the sad demise of respected Yateendra Bhaisaheb. We cherish the memories of his visits to India and our long walks with him to India Gate and Janpath and not the least his fondness for taking out Simi and Nipun for fun outings and dinners. We also cherish our visit to US 10 years back when we had the opportunity to stay with him in Grand Rapids and visiting Meijer Garden
We will live with these happy thoughts and memories for all times to come while he his with God

Yatee was a wonderful, dedicated volunteer at Meijer Gardens. I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face during his shifts.

Yatee was part of the Thursday morning Docent team at Fredrick Meijer Gardens. I served on that team with him. He was always friendly, and loved to talk about art, sculpture, and golf. We miss him very much. Our hearts go out to you at this sad time.
