William John Dewhurst-Walker, age 90 of Ada, passed away Friday, October 17. 2025. He was preceded in death by his son, Andy Dewhurst-Walker and two sisters, Ella Kubiet and Louise Nickson. John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa and their child William Dewhurst-Walker; and children from his previous marriage: Martin Dewhurst-Walker, Cindy Stewart, Becky (Doug) Lord, and Alistair Dewhurst-Walker and many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mollie Dewhurst-Martin, Wendy (Mike) Tunney and several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Stephen (Christine) Ruedger; nieces and nephews, Grace (Connor) Stewart, Leah (Robb) Davis (great-nephew, Gideon), and Jeremiah (Maddie) Ruedger. John served 25 years in the British Army retiring with the rank of Warrant Officer Class One. After completing his military career, he emigrated to the United States where he enjoyed another full career working as a manufacturing manager for Montgomery Ward, Magnavox, and Zenith. John loved to be busy and had several part-time jobs after retirement including loading trucks at the age of 75. He also loved puttering around the garden, traveling, and was an avid reader. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5-7pm at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, 11:00 at Maplelawn Baptist Church, 124 Maplelawn St SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49548. Interment at Sumner Center Cemetery, Sumner Township, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM), 11535 Fulton St. E, Lowell, MI 49331.

There is Superman, and there is Clark Kent. There are Father’s and there are Dad’s. Some men can be one or two, some Son’s can have one or two. You were all four, and as your Son I had all four. What words are enough? None. So I simply say I Love you, your son always Martin.
