Thomas Robert Finazzi died on November 1, 2024, in Ada, Michigan where he had lived for the past 34 years. A caring, funny, and an optimistic man, he enriched the lives of family and friends and graced their lives with his love.
Known as Tom to his family and friends, he was born on February 17, 1947, to William and Virgina Finazzi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Finazzi; niece, Tori Finazzi; Wil Moederzoon; uncle, Howard; uncle, Frank; aunt, Helen; his in-laws, Bert and Sally Woznicki; along with pets, Cousteau, Abby Jean, and Sydney. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Joanne Finazzi; his sisters, Theresa (Greg) Sowa of Holton, Judy Finazzi of Cadillac, Monica (Gary) Gremel of Lake City; brother-in-law, Michael; niece, Marie (Carl) Rothenberger; nephew, John (Julianna); SRN Tuesday Bible Study Group; and special friends, Gary Gagliardo, Mike Wood, & Jack Eichner; along with many nieces and nephews.
Tom graduated from Bridgeport High School, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University and completed graduate studies through Central Michigan University. After graduating, Tom was employed in engineering and administrative positions in places such as, Wayne State University and the University of Michigan.
He was a devout Roman Catholic who cherished his faith as a long-time member of St. Robert of Newminster Parish (Ada) where he was a past and present member of the bereavement committee, a lector, an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, Life Member of Knights of Columbus, usher, God’s Kitchen volunteer, and co-president of the SRN Golf League. In fact, Tom and his partner Gary Gagliardo were “A” Flight Champions in 2010 & 2011 and “B” Flight Champions in 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to God’s Kitchen.
