Therese Marie Selover, age 57 of Lowell, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. The daughter of Livio and Gail Ruth (nee Garland) Martin, she was born October 3, 1967, in Battle Creek.
She graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central High School in Battle Creek, Michigan, earning All-State titles in Volleyball and Basketball. Later, she was inducted in the Athletic Hall of Fame at St. Philip. Therese was the very definition of a girl’s girl; someone who loved deeply, laughed often, and always had her nails done, usually in a shade of her favorite color: pink. Her warmth radiated in the home she lovingly cared for, where she raised children with patience and grace. The Florida Keys held a special place in her heart — a favorite escape to the sunshine and ocean breeze. You could often find her gazing across their yard enjoying nature, entertained by the birds, chipmunks, squirrels, and deer that frequented the birdfeeder outside their family home.
Therese was preceded in death by her father, Livio Martin. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, H. Blair Selover; children, Lexi Marie Selover, Alanee Garland Selover, Gabriel Blair Selover, Nicholas James Sanderson, Christopher Blair Selover (Tiffany); grandchildren, Xavier Blair Selover and Willow Lee Selover; mother, Gail Ruth Martin; brothers, Steven Martin (Clareese), Timothy Martin; sister, Mary Lambert (Jeff); and canine companions, Bella and Bailey.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Watermark Country Club – Shore Room, 1600 Galbraith Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546.
