Susanne (Blanksma) Krebs 7/29/1935 – 7/24/2023 of Grand Rapids passed away July 24, 2023, just a few days short of her 88th birthday. Susanne was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Emery and Lottie (DeLange) Blanksma. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, David R Krebs, siblings Henry (Angie) Blanksma, Robert (Thelma) Blanksma, Emery Blanksma and Walter (Susan) Blanksma. Susanne is survived by her 3 daughters Cheryl (Terry) Metternick, Beth (Mike) Wisner and Denise (Vern) Nise; grandchildren, Janelle (Chris) Zachow, Amanda Archambault, Ben (Whitney) Wisner, Ashley (James) Collins, Andrew Metternick, Johnathan (Brittney) Nise and Madison Nise; great grandchildren Alexis, Logan, Evalyn, Mitchell, Ansley, Sadie, Eli, Breckon, Boone, Porter, Peter, and Graham. Susanne grew up on the family farm in Grand Rapids. She was an active member of 4H, which is where she met David. They were married and left for Germany, where David was stationed in the US Army. It was there that they made lifelong friends, whom we consider family. Susanne worked for the County until becoming a stay-at-home mom, which was her most cherished job. Her love of faith and family was very strong, she enjoyed preparing a family dinner for all of us every Sunday after church. She was very involved in church, as a member of the guild and sang in the choir until she was no longer able to sing after David passed. Our memories of her caring and loving soul will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 26, 2023, from 6-8pm and Thursday July 27, 12-1pm at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331. Funeral services will be at 1pm Thursday July 27, at Roth-Gerst Chapel. Rev Laurie Crelly officiating. Dessert reception at Schneider Manor immediately following service. Private family Interment to follow reception. Memorial contributions can be made to Schneider Manor, 725 Bowes St. SE, Lowell, MI 49331.

We loved Dave and Sue when they came to East church. I sang in choir with both of them, and Sue joined our Sharon Guild.
Unfortunately, we are on vacation this week so are unable to attend her service.
Harold also graduated OHHS with Sue.’
Sending blessings and prayers to the family, certainly will be with you in Spirit..
