Ryan Michael Azkoul Morrissey, age 43 of Grand Rapids, passed away September 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael James Morrissey. Ryan is survived by his mother, Sherry Azkoul Forsythe; stepfather, Craig A. Forsythe; brother, Marc J. Azkoul Morrissey; fiancé, Kailey Jean Price and her daughters, Ezri and Amira.
Ryan was a wonderful son, brother, fiancée, and friend with a beautiful soul. Loving, caring, responsible, grateful, loyal, sociable, flirtatious, and handsome were only some of his many amazing attributes. He was passionate about his family and enjoyed quality time with family and friends, along with golfing, shooting, working, sports, gardening, and interacting with people of all backgrounds. As no one is perfect, he was darn close in his family’s eyes. Ryan was taken too early; he will be missed greatly but remembered always. He was a great lover of life and fought to live life fully. Ryan was a role model to his brother, a perfect, loving son, and was always there for his loved ones. He held a great presence in the lives of his loved ones with strong Christian values. He was entering a new phase of family life with his fiancé and her daughters. Ryan will remain in our hearts forever and our minds for eternity. He touched so many lives and will continue to live on within us.
Family will greet friends and relatives from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, September 30, 2024, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Graveside services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society for lung cancer research.

Sam, Owen, and I love you deeply. You were not only my brother but also my closest friend. Your absence will be profoundly felt, and the impact you’ve had on our lives will continue to resonate with us forever.
“Because we don’t know when we will die,
we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well.
Yet everything happens only a certain number of times,
and a very small number really.
How many more times will you remember
a certain afternoon of your childhood,
some afternoon that’s so deeply a part of your being
that you can’t even conceive of your life without it?
Perhaps four or five times more.
Perhaps not even that.
How many more times will you watch the full moon rise?
Perhaps twenty.
And yet it all seems limitless.”
-Paul Bowles
Sending our love and prayers. Our family will never forget Ryan. He brought laughter and joy to our lives, and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Rest in peace, brother.
Rest in peace, Uncle Ryan. I will miss you so much. Life will not be the same without you around.
Oh Sherry, I just want to give you the biggest hug! I know how much you loved your boys. My prayers are with you my friend. God’s blessings to all of you!
Ryan ,
You have left our lives, but you will never leave our hearts. May your laughter, love, kindness, and strength live on forever.
I only meet Ryan once or twice, but I have heard many funny stories about him and I saw how happy he made his fiancé kaylee. In my book that make you a good person.
I am truly saddened when I learned of his diagnosis and his passing. I can’t imagine what kaylee or Ryan’s family. I’m going through right now.
My families and her work families pray, thoughts, and love are with you throughout this difficult time. Please lean on us
With love and prayers
