Ryan James King, age 38, of Belmont, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pat and John Purwin. Ryan is survived by his parents, Kathleen M. King and Daniel W. King; sister, Katherine (Katie) E. King; nephew, James Daniel Weaver (King); niece, Genevieve (Gigi) Grace King; grandparents, Ron King and Linda (Thiel) King; so many aunts, uncles, and loved family members; THE FAB 5: Travis Worst, Carl Hoffhines, Dan Greenan, Michael Howell, and Zach King; very special friends, Laura (& Vernon) and Charly. Ryan will be remembered as a wonderful, gifted and caring son, brother, grandson, family promoter, and friend to so many. Ryan also wished to be remembered as an athlete, a teammate, for his love of music, lyrics, and respect for authenticity. Ryan loved the outdoors; he protected and took on relationships with friends from all aspects and journeys in life. He will be remembered for the best buddy ever, ‘Vernon’ his rescue dog and constant companion through this end of life on earth. A piece of Ryan lives on with all of us and we are thankful for him forever. A Memorial Celebrating Ryan’s Life will be held, Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1-4:30pm at FOP Lodge 97, 1753 Alpine Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. A eulogy for Ryan will start at 1:30pm.

To loose a son and brother so young is probably the worst thing that ever could happen.
You will remember him with your memories and they will never fade away. Memories are a gift from god that can never be taken away.
