Russell Hayden Videan Jr., age 79, of Lowell, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Russell Videan Sr.; grandson, Dylan Griffin; brother, Donald Videan; parents-in-law, Jack and Pat Tousignaut; brothers-in-law, Harvey Eickhoff and Monty Tousignaut; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Videan and Molly Videan.

Russ is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sandy, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion and companionship. He is also survived by his children, Jeffrey Videan (Jodi Bott), Tina (Doug) Stranger, and Becky (Greg) Griffin; grandchildren, Heather (Lance) Jones, Hunter Videan, Austin Griffin, Brayden Griffin, Caylee Griffin, Kelsey Perow, and Jordan (Courtney) Perow, Cody (Kirsten) Stranger; and great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Hudson, Urijah, Bella, Ellie, Keiran, and Asher.

Russ dedicated 35 years of service to Amway before retiring. During retirement, he continued working with DWP Corp.

Russ had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses, and spending time in nature. Horses were a special part of his life, and he was proud to be a “horse dad.” He shared that passion with others as a 4-H leader and by coaching the local equestrian team, encouraging many young riders along the way.

He also loved staying active and social, playing softball, bowling, and enjoying a good game of cards. One of his proud bowling achievements was rolling a perfect 300 game.

Above all, Russ treasured time spent with his wife, Sandy. The two were inseparable and shared many happy memories together, especially at their cabin in northern Michigan. They also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing bingo together.

Russ was a proud and devoted grandfather who rarely missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. Whether it was from the stands, along the fence at a horse arena, or anywhere he could find a good view, he could often be found cheering from the sidelines, proud of the people he loved most.

His presence, encouragement, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Lowell Moose Lodge, 1320 E Main St, Lowell, MI 49331.

  6. Great uncle Russell was such a wonderful person, and I feel grateful for every memory I have of him. One of the things I remember most is his love for horses. Whenever he talked to my mom, and I was with her, he’d joke that my parents had plenty of room at their house for a pony for me. Visiting the horses at his home was always one of my favorite things to do, and those moments are still so vivid and comforting to me.
The last time I remember visiting him was when I went up to Uncle Russell and Aunt Sandra’s cabin with my grandpa and my grandma several years ago. Spending even that short amount of time with Uncle Russell and Aunt Sandra in such a peaceful place is something I’ll always hold close. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and at ease.
He was a wonderful great uncle, and I loved him very much. His kindness, his humor, and the warmth he carried will stay with me always. All my love to Aunt Sandra and family.
